About
Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival

With a mission to inspire, educate, and enrich lives, the Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival offers an alternative cinematic experience through the art of filmmaking and documentary storytelling. This festival showcases an assortment of thought-provoking films from around the world, including social, environmental, outdoor adventure, and Indigenous topics.

Held in Flagstaff, Arizona, the festival takes place in a vibrant university town, known for its scenic beauty and cultural attractions. The majestic San Francisco Peaks, the ecological diversity of the Colorado Plateau, and the proximity to the Hopi and Navajo Nations provide an ideal setting for celebrating documentary film.

For over two decades, outdoor and film enthusiasts have come together to enjoy this high-quality festival in Northern Arizona. Established in 2003 by passionate film enthusiasts, the festival has remained a volunteer-run effort, with profits reinvested into future festivals and donated to local non-profits.

Diverse offerings of cultural, adventure, environmental, and social documentaries are currently being collected from around the globe. Primarily screened at the historic Orpheum Theater, each session aims to expose new perspectives and insights, often with filmmakers present to discuss their creative process.

With an anticipated attendance of over 2,500 people, the upcoming festival promises a unique and engaging cinematic experience.
