About
Wildscreen Film Festival
The Wildscreen Festival is a prestigious international celebration that honours and promotes storytelling about the natural world through visual media.
For over three decades, this biennial festival has served as a platform to recognize and convene the world’s most accomplished natural world storytellers. It is also home to the renowned Wildscreen Panda Awards, the highest accolade in the wildlife film and TV industry.
In collaboration with a flourishing community of filmmakers, photographers, broadcasters, technologists, and conservation organizations, Wildscreen aims to revolutionize the art of natural world storytelling across multiple platforms and audiences. Our mission is to ensure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to experience the natural world, feel a connection to it, and be inspired to protect it.
Founded in 1982, Wildscreen boasts a rich legacy and is a well-established organization within the natural history industry.
Discover the journey that has transformed us into the organization we are today—a female-led team driven to disrupt the industry, champion diversity and inclusion, and reconnect humanity with the beauty of nature.
Wildscreen serves as a bridge between people and nature through storytelling. We democratize the creation of and access to nature’s stories by:
- Supporting and celebrating the natural world storytelling industry.
- Fostering connections between creativity and conservation by convening storytellers and conservationists.
- Cultivating a global community and nurturing the next generation of storytellers.
- Raising awareness of conservation by educating and connecting local communities with the natural world through stories.
