About
Jackson Wild
Established in 1991, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival, now known as Jackson Wild, has expanded its global reach and impact.
Jackson Wild’s mission is to accelerate and elevate impactful storytelling at the intersection of nature, science, and climate. Through innovative and collaborative gatherings, skill-building initiatives, mentorship programs, and career development opportunities, it serves as an inclusive global forum. Jackson Wild inspires its community and celebrates excellence in storytelling that highlights our connection to nature and our collective responsibility to protect it.
As a global community motivated by a deep reverence and urgent concern for the natural world, Jackson Wild believes that through collaboration and commitment, humanity can address critical and collective challenges in the coming decades.
The Collective serves as a virtual hub for the Jackson Wild global storytelling community to connect, collaborate, and inspire change year-round. It provides a resource for storytellers at all levels to enhance their impact and expand their opportunities through ongoing mentorship, an international production database, and career-building programs.
Additionally, Jackson Wild’s Action Coalitions explore solutions, resources, and best practices to ensure that global talent and local storytellers have greater access to training, opportunities, and success in wildlife and documentary filmmaking.
Jackson Wild serves as a catalyst for leadership and mentorship, bringing industry professionals together to challenge and inspire one another while nurturing the next generation of storytellers. It provides opportunities for emerging storytellers to push the boundaries of how we understand our relationship with nature.
Recognizing the power of diverse voices in storytelling, Jackson Wild offers programs such as the Jackson Wild Media Lab and Summit Fellowships. These unique programs train and mentor emerging conservation media leaders, directly engaging them with influential content creators from around the globe. Through initiatives like the Wild Women Media Lab, the Jackson Wild Virtual Summit: Kenya, and the African Conservation Voices Initiative, Jackson Wild is working with local organizers to amplify the voices of young filmmakers worldwide.
Finally, Jackson Wild is a forum for innovation, where diverse and passionate storytellers gather to share bold new ideas that push the frontiers of storytelling. The Jackson Wild Summit provides an annual platform for collaboration and innovation, where cross-disciplinary conversations on critical issues facing our planet set the stage for strategic partnerships that drive conservation and environmental progress.
